On June 27, The Illinois NAACP State Conference and Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police joined to host a World Cafe Summit in downtown Peoria. Nearly 200 people attended the event, including Illinois Lieutenant Governor, Juliana Stratton. The event followed a series of 9 previous World Cafe discussions held around the state. The World Café Summit was designed to bring community and law enforcement leaders back together again to discuss the next steps for the 10 Shared Principles.

Chief Dan Ryan, ILACP VP at Large Region 1, sat on the ILETSB, Executive Institute Chiefs Panel at the 2019 New Police Chiefs Orientation in Springfield hosted by Northwestern Illinois University.
ILACP Vice President Mitchell R. Davis III participated on a Senate Executive Committee panel in the State Capitol on Wednesday, May 15, during a “subject matter hearing” on SB 7, which would legalize recreational marijuana.
ILACP President Stelter joined Smart Approaches to Marijuana-Illinois, Representative Moylan, D-Des Plaines, Teresa Haley, President of the Illinois NAACP and many other community leaders in a press conference, on May 8, to express major concern about the recent proposal to legalize adult-use cannabis.
