American Military University

At American Military University (AMU), we understand that knowledge is your best defense. That’s why we have a longstanding history helping law enforcement professionals advance their knowledge—supporting leaders and officers who wish to enhance their communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

Through a partnership with AMU, members of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) and their families are eligible for a tuition grant and waiver of the university’s technology fee. With your partner grant, undergraduate tuition is $270.75 per credit hour, and undergraduate textbooks are offered at no-cost. Master’s-level tuition is $351.50 per credit hour.

AMU offers more than 200 online degrees and certificates in fields such as business administration, criminal justice, cybersecurity, emergency and disaster management, fire science, homeland security, and intelligence studies. At the doctoral level, programs in global security and strategic intelligence are available.

As an ILACP member, you can extend these benefits to the sworn and professional staff members of your departments. Contact us to learn how you can take advantage of this opportunity.

 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville

The criminal justice program at SIUE rests on a strong academic foundation, making a wide variety of occupations accessible to our graduates. A growing number of criminal justice jobs require a university degree, and a degree almost always improves a person’s chances for promotions and other career advancement. Graduates of the online criminal justice policy master’s program use their degree as a stepping stone to new careers or for advancement in professional positions that serve the criminal justice community and the public at large. SIUE offers a fully-online degree completion program in Bachelors of Arts/Science in Criminal Justice Studies. Additionally, SIUE offers a fully-online Masters in Criminal Justice Policy

The Department of Public Administration and Policy Analysis offers a graduate program leading to the fully-online Master of Public Administration (MPA), a professional degree designed to prepare persons for management careers in the public and nonprofit sectors.  SIUE’s nationally accredited MPA program serves two types of students: (1) pre-service students who have recently completed a bachelor’s degree and wish to use the master’s degree to gain entry into a professional career track, and (2) in-service students who have worked for several years in the public or nonprofit sector, but wish to return to the University to enhance or upgrade their skills and knowledge.
