The City of O’Fallon is the seventh-largest city in the State of Missouri and part of the St. Louis metropolitan statistical area.  Today, O’Fallon’s borders have expanded to about 30 square miles and the population is more than 87,000.  The City’s residents are represented by a Mayor and a ten-member City Council.  By charter, O’Fallon operates as a Mayor-City Administrator-City Council form of government.  The Mayor, with the consent and approval of the majority of City Council, has the authority to appoint the Chief of Police.  The O’Fallon Police Department consists of 118 sworn officers and 37 full-time non-sworn personnel.

The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in police administration, law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field, must have at least five years of experience in law enforcement as a commanding officer, and the ability to meet current requirements set forth by the Missouri Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.  The salary range for this position is $97,406 - $137,446 depending on qualifications and experience.
