GRANT OPPORTUNITY FOR FREE LAPTOPS FOR SMALL ILLINOIS LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES

Technology Equipment Grant Opportunity:  The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) have partnered to award one-hundred and twenty-five laptops (125) to agencies in effort to help them become NIBRS compliant with the State of Illinois. 

The computers will come shipped with the appropriate software and a carrying case.  Agencies awarded this technology equipment must utilize it in their efforts to become NIBRS compliant.  Equipment will be awarded on a first come basis to those agencies meet the below eligibility requirements. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be an Illinois Law Enforcement Agency that is required to submit crime data/statistics to the Illinois State Police (Sheriff Offices and security departments are ineligible).
  • This grant is currently aimed at agencies with less than fifteen full-time sworn officers.
  • Agency must commit to utilizing this equipment to become NIBRS compliant.  

Application Process: 

  • Complete the one-page application process, by clicking below.
  • You will be notified if your application has been approved or denied within approximately two weeks.
  • If approved, the agency must agree to complete required paperwork documenting the receipt of the equipment for 
    grant compliance purposes.
  • The equipment will become the property of the agency and the agency will be responsible for the maintenance of
    the equipment.
  • Equipment will be shipped to the approved agency as quickly as possible subject to supply demands.
